Service Technician – Automobile

Job Description

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background

  • ITI/Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Vocational school certification preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems (engine, brakes, suspension, electrical, etc.).
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical issues using tools and software.
  • Hands-on experience with repairs on engines, transmissions, and related components.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.

Requirements:

Experience

  • Proven work experience as an Automobile Service Technician or Mechanic.
  • Familiarity with modern vehicle systems (ABS, ECU, fuel injection, hybrid/electric preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to undergo training for continuous skill development.
  • Basic computer literacy for diagnostics and service reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Servicing

  • Perform routine vehicle services such as oil changes, brake checks, and wheel alignment.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.

Diagnostics & Repairs

  • Repair and replace faulty parts in engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with manufacturer standards and safety guidelines.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate job cards and service reports.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service history.

Customer & Team Support

  • Explain technical issues and repair solutions to customers clearly.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure timely service delivery.
